A NOTE FROM THE CATALYST
We flew through November so fast that I didn’t even get a note to you the whole month! And now we’re into December – the time of year that becomes its own season with magic, wonder and potent possibilities that come from heart connections, both with ourselves and the people in our world.
Speaking of which, I want to share with you one of my personal highlights from November. A brave soul and amazing client, Jacque Weiss, flew out from the Midwest to work with me in a 1:1 laser retreat for three days. The idea was to get her business on track by integrating everything she’s discovered through our work together this year as well as all the other personal and business development she’s been committed to completing. Her business just wasn’t where she wanted it to be, and every time we talked about it, her energy dropped (in fact, “light like a lead balloon” is the phrase that comes to mind). And yet, when she talked in casual conversation about art, color and creating “visual joy” (just check out the picture!), it was magical – and all I could do to hold her ankles as she took off!
 As a result of this 1:1 retreat, she discovered that her business wasn’t working because she was in the wrong business – she had been taking her artistic gifts to be a hobby “over there” rather than allowing her spirit to breathe by being in her passion and creating a business from being in the flow of her gifts. I wanted to give Jacque a shout out for her courage to go “there” with me as her guide, her willingness to be open to what she needed (not necessarily wanted) to get, and her commitment to living a richer, more robust life on every level. Here’s to creating more joy all the way around…
And one more… I’ve been working with another woman with big heart who was not on her right path. Yes, Donna – I’m talking about you! She is also a creative person, with “the eye” for composition and a previously hidden desire to work with animals and she also liked photography. Despite her executive-level position with a national company, she agreed (upon pinning her to the virtual mat) to follow through on attending a week-long pet photography workshop on her vacation and has been creating pet portraits “on the side” for the last three months. Just this week, she learned that her long-time job was eliminated (which we had predicted earlier this year). However, rather than seeing that as a trauma, she realized it’s the best present she could have received this year – her freedom to follow her dreams! Good job, Donna…
These stories make it seem easy to discover one’s true purpose, but I can tell you that these simple paragraphs are deceptive in that it takes effort, perseverance, a willingness to be open to the possibilities and get beyond the old beliefs, trust in the partnership that we form to get things moving, and honoring one’s individual pace and process. It ain’t easy… and each of these clients, now having gone through it, would tell you that it’s worth it in the end and that they couldn’t have done it without guidance and support. I liken it to the client wanting to take a river rafting trip on an unknown but potentially amazing and potentially hazardous river, so they hire an experienced rafting guide (me). The guide may not know that exact river, but has the skills, experience and ability to handle whatever comes up, from the conditions of the river to client safety to navigation to the unexpected. In the end, the client has the experience they need to get to where they want to go, and they were able to focus on their part of the journey because they had a trusted guide to take care of planning, navigating and handling the raft in relationship to the river. Both the client and the guide have big work to do throughout the journey, but once the client has come through the rapids, they have clarity like never before. And THAT is the place from which to create a purposeful business.
So, I have big plans coming for 2008. I’ve been getting more requests to do this type of intense work with conscious business owners, so I’m putting together something really exciting to meet that need. I’ll be sharing that soon… but, for now, it’s all about getting ready to jump into holiday festivities! Engage the Magic of You
Imagine that you are walking along your path in life as happily as can be for the moment when you hear something that interrupts your reverie. You notice that there is something shimmering over to the side, just a bit off the path, beckoning you to come closer. Trusting your intuition, you move closer to the beam of light, and you see that it’s a beautiful door that’s cracked open ever so slightly and the brilliant light is coming from behind the door. Naturally, your curiosity prompts you to walk through the door, and you decide to step through the mysterious portal to discover where it goes.
So inside you go… and as you walk, you see around you beautiful flowers and trees and the air feels fresh when you breathe. You notice that animals are walking with you and you feel incredibly light. Although you wonder where you are going, you’re not worried – you know that you will get there.
And eventually you do… you come to a place that seems to be created just for you. It’s a gorgeous, lush, idyllic place, and it has all your favorite things. You can do anything you want, you have unlimited energy, and you feel complete harmony with your environment. Off to the side, you see a package that is gift-wrapped with your name on it - and you know that it is something that is what you’ve always wanted. You have this magical feeling of having exactly what you want as you think it, because gifts keep showing up for you…as fast as you can think of it, a gift appears. As you sit to enjoy your special, magical place, you suddenly realize that…
It’s you. It’s all you. Your personal portal into the inner sanctum of you is what creates the magic of your life. The partnership between your inner being and your outer self is the one that powers your experiences. And the way to access it is through your intuition. Your magic is revealed to you through your intuition and is externally proven through what you manifest.
When is the last time you felt your magic? How does it feel to engage with your magic – even if it was for just a moment as you read the words above? Engaging with your magic is the way to create what you want in your life. And if you’re feeling the magic has been missing…
Three Things You Can Do Today:

Clear Your Path. That is, de-clutter what isn’t you, the things that are in your way, the obstacles that you are climbing over as you are trying to walk your path. Finish what’s unfinished, clean out junk, and get rid of anything that doesn’t work, is broken, is unnecessary – including physical items, relationships, beliefs, habits, etc. You get the idea.

Look for Your Portal. Your door will become more clearly visible to you, but you might notice other doors on your way. If it’s not your door, it won’t be easy for you to walk through it, it won’t be as inviting, and it won’t suit you. It’s important to have discernment about what is appropriate for you, and what isn’t, on every level.

Notice All Your Gifts. From being in gratitude for what you already have (which is the only way to know you can create more, by the by) to seeing what’s coming into your life, it’s vital to acknowledge that these gifts are being special-delivered to you. If you don’t like what you’re getting, you can change the order anytime by engaging with your magic. Own what you magically created, retrace your steps, refocus and try again – think of it as exchanging your gifts for an upgrade.
So, the big question… where’s your magical doorway? Are you following your intuition to find it? If not, why not? Do you notice it when it’s nearby? Can you feel your inner being and your outer self communicating? Are you allowing your magic to express through you every day?
